Biography
Clint Penzo is a Republican state senator representing District 31 in Arkansas, which includes parts of Springdale, Johnson, Tontitown, and Elm Springs in Washington County. Elected to the Senate in 2022 and sworn in on January 9, 2023, he previously served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2017 to 2022 and on the Tontitown City Council for two years. A Tontitown native, Penzo is a realtor with Re/Max Associates, named to the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Rotary Club, Springdale Chamber of Commerce, and National Association of Realtors. He lives in Springdale with his wife, Allison, who manages their real estate business.
Education and Political Experience
Penzo graduated from the University of Arkansas and attended Springdale public schools K-12, where he was an all-conference football player. His early career included laying tile with his father at age 13 and five years at HealthSouth rehabilitating stroke, orthopedic, and senior patients.
In the Senate, he chairs the Rules, Resolutions and Memorials Committee, co-chairs the Medical Marijuana Oversight Subcommittee, and serves on committees including Public Health, Welfare and Labor; Insurance and Commerce; Joint Budget; and Arkansas Legislative Council. Notable achievements include sponsoring legislation to strengthen laws against human trafficking, amend the No Patient Left Alone Act, study naturopathic medicine, enhance adoption laws, and ensure Medicaid reimburses behavioral health services. He maintains a 100% pro-life voting record, opposes tax increases, and advocates for property rights, school choice, small businesses, and Second Amendment rights.
