Biography

Clark Calvin "Click" Bishop, born July 25, 1957, in Mexico, Missouri, moved to Alaska at age two and grew up in various small towns before settling in Fairbanks. A Republican, he represented District R , covering the western Fairbanks North Star Borough and rural Interior Alaska communities in the Alaska State Senate from 2013 to 2024. Notable achievements include serving as Alaska Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development under Governors Sarah Palin and Sean Parnell, co-chairing the Senate Finance Committee, chairing the Community and Regional Affairs Committee, and acting as majority whip. He focused on workforce development, job creation, energy, education, resource industries, and local communities, and ran for governor emphasizing lower living costs and economic growth.
