Clay Doggett is a Republican representing Tennessee House District 70, which covers Giles and Lawrence Counties. Born on September 5, 1983, he is a businessman, former law enforcement officer, and politician serving in the Tennessee House of Representatives since 2019. Notable achievements include co-sponsoring constitutional carry legislation passed in 2021 and sponsoring the "Second Amendment Privacy and Protection Act of 2021," which prohibits state or local firearm registries and was enacted on June 2, 2021. He served as Republican Secretary of the Tennessee House from 2019-2021, chairs the Subcommittee on Criminal Justice, and serves on committees including Criminal Justice, Local Government, and Naming and Designating.
