Chuck Hufstetler is a Republican state senator representing Georgia's 52nd District since 2013, covering Floyd County and portions of Bartow, Chattooga, and Gordon counties. • Education: Earned a Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology from Emory School of Medicine ; works as an anesthetist at Redmond Regional Hospital in Rome and as an adjunct professor at Emory.
• Early Career: Corporate manager in manufacturing and finance for Welch Foods, Earthgrain, and Anheuser-Busch across New York, Texas, California, and Georgia; owned Paul's Oyster Bar in Rome.
• Political Experience: Floyd County Commissioner , where he cut property taxes six times, eliminated debt, built a record rainy day fund, and led stadium and bike trail projects; elected to Georgia State Senate in 2012.
