Christy Zito is a Republican state senator representing District 8 in Idaho, a four-county area in southwest Idaho including Mountain Home. She won the 2024 primary and general elections, securing her current term after previously serving two terms in the Idaho House of Representatives and one term in the Idaho Senate from District 23.
