Christopher “Chris” Howland is a Republican representative for Rutland-4 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since 2025. Born in Rutland, Vermont, he is one of seven children with paternal heritage tracing back to the Mayflower era. He served in the Vermont National Guard, worked as a Professional Engineer for a Boston engineering firm, and retired from Green Mountain Power after its acquisition of Central Vermont Public Service. Notable roles include former Volunteer Ski Patroller, Boy Scout leader , Collector of Delinquent Taxes, and multiple terms as Justice of the Peace. He currently serves on the House Committee on Energy and Digital Infrastructure.
