Biography
Christine Cohen is a Democratic State Senator representing Connecticut's 12th District, which includes Branford, Durham, East Haven, Guilford, Killingworth, Madison, Middlefield, North Branford, and Rockfall. Born on December 25, 1976, in Mount Kisco, NY, she resides in Guilford, CT, with her husband Rob and three children. Elected in 2018 and assuming office in 2019, she serves as Deputy President Pro Tempore of the Connecticut State Senate. Notable achievements include chairing the Environment Committee , where she advanced environmental protection; now co-chairing the Transportation Committee, focusing on roadway safety and multi-modal transport; and creating the Coastal Caucus in 2020. She owns Cohen’s Bagel Company , advocates for small businesses, gun safety, affordable healthcare, mental health, and serves on committees like Banking , Children, Finance, Revenue and Bonding, and General Law. She is also co-chair of the Bioscience Caucus.
