Representative Christian Hermanson

Christian A. Hermanson is a Republican representing Iowa House District 59, which encompasses North Iowa including his hometown of Mason City. Born and raised on a family farm near Lake Mills in Winnebago County, Hermanson brings deep roots to rural Iowa and understands the region's values and challenges firsthand.

Hermanson has built a career of public service across multiple sectors. He served 29 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. During his military career, he held a senior leadership position with U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany, and completed multiple global deployments that developed his expertise in leadership, strategic planning, and crisis management.

Following his military service, Hermanson worked as a police officer with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Minneapolis, where he focused on critical issues including mental health, drug addiction, and community safety.
