Biography
Senator Christi Gillespie
Christi Gillespie is a Republican member of the Oklahoma State Senate representing District 33, which includes portions of Tulsa County and the city of Broken Arrow. She assumed office on November 20, 2024, following her election on November 5, 2024, defeating opponent Bob Willis. Her current term extends through November 22, 2028.
Gillespie grew up in Broken Arrow after moving to Oklahoma as a child. She is a small business owner and co-owns Let's Play BA, a children's indoor play business located on Main Street in Broken Arrow, which she operates with her daughter. Her professional background includes serving as Director of Sales & Training for North America at SeneGence International, demonstrating her expertise in business development and leadership.
Prior to her state senate election, Gillespie served on the Broken Arrow City Council beginning in 2019 and was named Vice Mayor in 2021, a position she held through her re-election in 2023. During her municipal service, she focused on revitalizing the local economy, particularly in south Broken Arrow, including projects such as New Orleans Square, Aspen Ridge Development, and the Innovation District.
Education
Gillespie graduated cum laude from Oklahoma Christian University with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications. She also graduated from Hillsboro High School.
Political Experience
As a state senator, Gillespie has prioritized economic development, particularly in the technology sector, public safety, and education. She advocates for parental involvement in children's education, supports law enforcement and first responders, and champions pro-life policies. Additionally, she has worked toward establishing Northeastern State University-Broken Arrow as a four-year institution and supports Second Amendment rights and religious freedom protections.
