Biography
Chris Toney
Christopher Wayne Toney was born on February 13, 1988. He is a Republican politician who has served as a Delegate to the West Virginia House of Delegates since 2018, representing the 31st District. His occupation is school bus operator.
Toney is married to Molly Sigmon-Toney and is a member of the Christian faith. He is active in his community through affiliations with the West Virginia School Bus Operators Association, Loyal Order of Moose 1606, the Board of Directors for the Raleigh County Community Action Association, and Spruce Tabernacle Church.
Education
Toney attended Liberty High School for his secondary education. He then earned an Associate degree from New River Community and Technical College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concord University.
Political Experience
Toney assumed office as a Delegate from the 31st District in 2018, succeeding Chanda Adkins. In the general election, he defeated Democratic opponent Richard Snuffer with 55.76% of the vote. He serves on the House Committee on Education Accountability and continues to represent his district in the West Virginia House of Delegates.
