Biography

Chris Tomlinson is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 5, which covers parts of Carroll and Frederick Counties. Born on August 29, 1986, in Baltimore, Maryland, he has resided in Carroll County since childhood, living in areas such as Hampstead and Manchester. He serves on the Judiciary Committee, including its Family and Juvenile Law and Public Safety Subcommittees, and is Chair of the Carroll County House Delegation . Notable achievements include Grassroots Activist of the Year , Outstanding Man of the Year/Charles Carroll Award , and serving as an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention . Previously, he was third vice chairman of the Maryland Republican Party and ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Manchester in 2015. Elected in 2022 after winning the Republican primary, he assumed office in January 2023. He is married and works as a Contracts Manager for the Maryland Transit Administration, while also writing bi-weekly political columns for the Carroll County Times/Baltimore Sun.
