Biography
Chris Todd is a Democratic representative for Hawaii House District 3, covering portions of Hilo, Keaukaha, Orchidlands Estate, Ainaloa, Hawaiian Acres, Fern Acres, Kurtistown, and Kea‘au. Born and raised in Hilo, he attended Hilo High School and was appointed to the Hawaii House in 2017 by Governor David Ige to fill a vacancy in District 2 following the death of Representative Clift Tsuji; he has since represented District 3. Prior to politics, Todd worked as distribution manager for Hawaii Paper Products and coached football at Hilo High School. He focuses on addressing income inequality through tax reforms that ease burdens on the middle class.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Majored in economics and political science at the University of Hawaii at Hilo ; served on the Board of Student Publications .
- Political Experience: Appointed to Hawaii House District 2 in 2017, serving the remainder of the term; elected and re-elected to District 3 as a Democrat, currently serving with contact reptodd@capitol.hawaii.gov and 808-586-8480.
