Chris Swedzinski is a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 15A in southwest Minnesota, which includes the city of Marshall and counties such as Lac qui Parle, Lyon, Yellow Medicine, and parts of Chippewa. Born on May 10, 1978, in Lyon County, he was raised on a farm near Taunton, is of Belgian and Polish ancestry, works as a farmer, owns a small welding business near Ghent, and is married to Jessica with five children. First elected in 2010 succeeding Marty Seifert, he has served continuously, representing Districts 21A , 16A , and 15A . Notable achievements include serving as assistant majority leader , chairing the Subcommittee on Mining, Forestry, & Tourism , and current roles as co-chair of the Energy Finance and Policy Committee, plus membership on Taxes and Ways and Means committees.
