Biography

Chris Phillips - West Virginia Delegate

Chris Phillips was born on October 8, 1969, in Buckhannon, West Virginia. He is the son of Craig Phillips and the late Cynthia Phillips, and has one child, Logan. Outside of his political career, Phillips serves as President of CGP Foods, Inc. He maintains active affiliations with the National Rifle Association, the West Virginia Citizens Defense League, and the Chamber of Commerce.

Education

Phillips attended Philip Barbour High School in Barbour County, West Virginia.

Political Experience

Phillips was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 2018 as a Republican. He represents District 68 and previously represented District 47 from 2018 to 2022. He served as Assistant Republican Whip from 2020 to 2021.

In his legislative work, Phillips has been active in sponsoring bills. In the 2025 session, he served as the lead sponsor of HB 2009, which relates to the merging and reorganizing of the executive branch—a bill that was subsequently signed into law.
