Representative Chris Muraoka
Chris Muraoka is a Republican member of the Hawaii House of Representatives representing District 45 , elected in November 2024 after flipping the seat from Democrats by a narrow 209-vote margin in the general election. A businessman, U.S. Navy veteran, devoted father, grandfather, and husband born and raised in Waianae, he focuses on addressing homelessness, violent crime, and education.
Born and raised in Waianae, Hawaii, Chris Muraoka graduated from Waianae High School in 1995 and served in the U.S. Navy, gaining a strong sense of duty and discipline. As a local business owner with deep community roots, he began his political involvement on the Waianae Neighborhood Board, tackling local issues to improve quality of life. In 2024, he won the Republican primary with 51.3% against Tiana Wilbur and the general election against Democrat Desiré DeSoto, becoming a respected advocate for his district's priorities.
