Biography
Chris Muns is a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives representing Rockingham 29. A resident of Hampton, New Hampshire, he assumed his current office on December 7, 2022. His current term is scheduled to end on December 2, 2026. Muns successfully won re-election in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Professionally, Muns is an executive with extensive experience in human resources, benefits management, financial planning, and strategic account management. Before entering public service full-time, he worked in various leadership roles for organizations including Raytheon, Fisher Scientific, Fidelity Investments, and Comverse Technologies. From April 2015 to April 2020, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of One Sky Community Services, a nonprofit agency based in Portsmouth that assists individuals with developmental disabilities. He retired from his professional career in 2020.
Education
Muns graduated from the American School in London, England, in 1973. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Bowdoin College in 1977, graduating cum laude. In 1982, he received a Master of Business Administration in finance and accounting from Dartmouth College's Amos Tuck School of Business Administration.
Political Experience
Muns currently serves in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. During the 2023-2024 legislative session, he was assigned to the Science, Technology and Energy Committee. He previously served in the New Hampshire House from December 2012 to December 2014, representing Rockingham County District 21. During that term, he served as the clerk of the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee. He was the top vote-getter in the November 2012 election for that district.
In addition to his legislative work, Muns served as an elected at-large member of the Winnacunnet Cooperative High School School Board from March 2012 to March 2015. He served as Chairman of the school board from March 2013 to March 2015. In 2014, he was a candidate for the New Hampshire State Senate in District 24.
