Biography
Chris Lee is a Democratic member of the Hawaii State Senate, representing District 25 since 2021. Born on January 28, 1981, in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Kailua, he was the youngest member and only millennial in the Hawaii State Legislature when first elected in 2008. Notable achievements include authoring Hawaii's landmark law requiring 100% renewable energy by 2045, the Hawaii Climate Adaptation Initiative, the nation's first tax credit for organic food production, and legislation to eliminate fossil fuels for ground transportation. He was named Best Policymaker in 2016 by the US Green Building Council and received the 2015 Transformational Achievement in Advancing Clean Energy Award. Lee currently serves as Assistant Majority Whip, Vice Chair of the Labor and Technology Committee, Chair of the Transportation, Culture, and the Arts Committee, and Member of the Ways and Means and Judiciary Committees.

- Education: Attended ‘Iolani School; earned a BA in Political Science from Oregon State University .
- Early Career: Volunteered with nonprofits like Breakthroughs for Youth at Risk and Hawaii Meth Project; worked at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu and Hawaiian Airlines.
