Biography
Chris Kapenga is a Republican state senator representing District 33 in the Wisconsin State Senate. He was first elected to the Senate in a July 2015 special election, reelected in 2018 and subsequent cycles, and has held leadership roles including Senate President in 2021 and 2023. Notable achievements include serving as Co-Chair of the Joint Legislative Council, Joint Committee on Legislative Organization, and Joint Committee on Employment Relations, as well as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Senate Organization; he previously represented Wisconsin State Assembly District 55 starting in 2010. Prior to politics, he worked as a CPA, owned businesses like Integrity Holdings and Integrated Time Systems, and held HR roles at companies including Oshkosh Corporation and Menasha Corporation. He grew up on a family farm, resides in Delafield with his wife Cari and two grown daughters, and enjoys church community service, travel, and auto restoration.
