Biography
Chris Jeter is a Republican representative for Indiana House District 88, assuming office on August 26, 2020, succeeding Brian Bosma. Born in 1978 or 1979 in Hamilton County, Indiana, he is a native Hoosier raised by a mother working in insurance and a father who was an Indiana State Police patrolman; his father passed away before his senior year of high school. Jeter is married to Karen and has two children. A veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve for seven years, including as a JAG officer, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with Task Force 134, prosecuting terrorists, and earned the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for leadership. He is a founding partner of a Fishers law firm that has grown to employ 10 people and positions himself as a conservative family man, small business owner, and Navy veteran committed to public service.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School; earned a BA from Oklahoma Baptist University ; JD from George Washington University.
- Professional Experience: Served in U.S. Navy JAG Corps ; law clerk in Delaware Attorney General's Office; associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP ; founding partner of Massillamany Jeter and Carson since 2015.
- Political Experience: Elected to Indiana House of Representatives for District 88 in 2020; candidate in 2026 primary.
