Biography
Chris Gebhard is a Republican state senator representing Pennsylvania's 48th Senatorial District, which includes all of Lebanon County and portions of Berks and Lancaster counties in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. He was elected in a special election on May 18, 2021, and resides in North Cornwall Township with his wife Sarah and their two sons, Davis and Drew. A lifelong resident of Lebanon County, he owns Hoaster Gebhard & Co., an insurance and risk management firm, and has over two decades of experience in the insurance field. His priorities include protecting constitutional liberties, ensuring secure elections, strengthening the economy and schools, supporting small businesses against overregulation, and promoting fiscally responsible budgets.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of Vanderbilt University.
- Political Experience: In the 2025-26 session, chairs the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee; vice chair of the Community, Economic and Recreational Development Committee; member of the Aging and Youth, Communications and Technology, Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure, Institutional Sustainability and Innovation, and Rules and Executive Nominations committees.
- Community Involvement: Active in the Lebanon Lions Club, Lebanon Community Library, Mt. Gretna Theatre, and Lebanon Valley Chamber of Commerce .
