Biography
Chris Erwin
Chris Erwin is a Republican serving as State Representative for Georgia House District 32, a position he has held since 2019 and is currently in his eighth term. Born on April 26, 1962, he resides in Banks County, Georgia.
Erwin has built a distinguished career in education and public service. He retired after 11 years as superintendent of Banks County School System and previously served as a school administrator in both Carroll County and Henry County. He currently works as the director of Business Development for Carroll Daniel Construction Company.
Education
Erwin earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia in 1985, his Master's degree from Georgia State University in 1989, and his Specialist degree from the University of West Georgia in 1995.
Political Experience and Achievements
Erwin is recognized as a respected educational leader. He was nominated as Superintendent of the Year for Georgia Schools and named a finalist in 2010, 2011, and 2012, before being named Superintendent of the Year for Georgia in 2013. He is a former president of the Georgia School Superintendents Association and recently completed service on the executive board for the American Association of School Administrators.
Beyond education, Erwin has been active in civic leadership, serving as president of the Banks County Chamber of Commerce and the Banks County Rotary Club. He was honored as Banks County Citizen of the Year in 2006. His legislative priorities focus on education, workforce development, election integrity, and economic development.
