Biography
Chris Corry is a Republican state representative serving Washington's 15th Legislative District , covering parts of Yakima and Benton counties in Central Washington. He serves as Deputy Minority Leader in the House of Representatives and is in his fourth term, having previously represented the 14th District before redistricting. Notable positions include committee memberships on Appropriations, Consumer Protection & Business, and the Legislative Committee on Economic Development & International Relations. His legislative priorities emphasize protecting parental rights, public safety, tax reduction, job growth, emergency powers reform, and improving mental health and education systems. Corry volunteers with nonprofits like the Salvation Army and Crime Stoppers of Yakima County, serves on the Central Washington Fair Association board, and is active in school support groups as a parent of four children with his wife, Jennica. Born August 19, 1982, in inland Southern California, he grew up on a small farm before moving to Washington.
Education and Political Experience
Corry earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington, where he met his wife and was active in College Republicans and the Associated Students as Community Relations representative. Professionally, he has over a decade in the insurance industry, advancing from auditor to audit manager and now insurance advisor in Yakima, gaining expertise in finance, risk management, and business development. He entered politics as a passionate constitutional supporter to serve Central Washington communities, first elected to the 14th District and now in the 15th.
