Biography
Senator Chip Curry
Glenn "Chip" Curry is a Democratic state senator representing Senate District 11 in Maine, which encompasses all of Waldo County. A resident of Belfast, he has served in the Maine State Legislature since his election in November 2020. Throughout his career, Curry has focused on helping individuals of all ages overcome challenges and reach their full potential. He is a union member and co-chairs the Professional Employee Association at the University of Maine at Augusta.
Education and Early Career
During the 1990s, Curry taught at Unity College, where he led courses in outdoor leadership, environmental stewardship, and civic engagement. For over a decade, he worked with the Governor's Children's Cabinet, where he led initiatives to strengthen community-based efforts to reduce child poverty and protect children from abuse and neglect. For much of the past decade, he has served as an academic advisor for adult students returning to college, helping them develop the necessary skills and earn credentials for good-paying jobs.

He is also chair of the Waldo County Advisors committee of the Maine Community Foundation.
