Biography
Senator George E. "Chip" Campsen III is a Republican representing District 43 in the South Carolina State Senate, covering parts of Beaufort, Charleston, and Colleton Counties. Born on March 30, 1959, in Charleston, South Carolina, he has served in the Senate since 2005 and resides in Isle of Palms. Notable achievements include receiving the Order of the Palmetto , SC Wildlife Federation Conservationist of the Year , and Palmetto Family Council awards. He currently chairs the Senate Fish, Game and Forestry Committee and the Charleston County Legislative Delegation, and serves on the Judiciary, Legislative Oversight, Rules, and Transportation Committees.
