Biography

Cheryl Youakim is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party representing District 46B in the Minnesota House of Representatives, which covers parts of Hennepin County including the cities of Hopkins, Edina, and St. Louis Park. Born on May 29, 1969, she has served in the House since 2015, first elected in a special election in 2014 following the resignation of incumbent Steve Simon. She is married to Jacques Youakim and has three children. Notable achievements include chairing key committees such as Education Policy , Property Tax Division of the Taxes Committee , and currently serving as Co-Chair of the Education Finance Committee , while also sitting on the Education Policy, Taxes, and Ways and Means Committees.
