Biography

Delegate Cheryl E. Pasteur is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 11A in Baltimore County. Elected in November 2022 and sworn in on January 11, 2023, she serves on the Ways and Means Committee and holds the position of Deputy Majority Whip; notable past roles include the Judiciary Committee and service on the Baltimore County Board of Education .

Cheryl E. Pasteur is a retired educator and former principal with a long career dedicated to education and community service in Baltimore. She began teaching English in Baltimore City Schools , served as an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation , and later worked in Baltimore County Public Schools as a teacher, equity specialist, department chair, assistant principal, and principal at schools including Randallstown High School and Old Court Middle School. She retired from teaching in 2012 but continued as an instructor at Morgan State University and was elected to the Baltimore County Board of Education in 2018. Pasteur entered state politics in 2022, winning election to represent District 11A.
