Biography
Cherrish Pryor is a Democratic state representative for House District 94 in Indiana, representing portions of Marion County in Central Indiana. She has served in the Indiana House of Representatives since November 4, 2008, and currently holds the position of Indiana House Democratic Caucus Floor Leader. She is a member of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus and serves on key committees including Ways and Means, Elections and Apportionment, and Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications. Notable achievements include co-founding and serving as a former chair of Hoosier Women Forward, serving as Treasurer of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators, and being a 2024 Vital Voices Global Fellow. Her legislative work focuses on youth issues, such as expanding health care for young adults released from correctional facilities and establishing funds to combat dropout rates, as well as local government matters.
