Chasity Verret Martinez is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 60, which covers parts of Assumption and Iberville Parishes. Born in Bayou Sorrel, Louisiana, and residing in Plaquemine, she was elected in the 2026 special election to replace former Rep. Chad Brown, defeating Republican Brad Daigle. Previously, she won election to the Iberville Parish Council in October 2023, defeating incumbent Louis “Pete” Kelley. Her committee assignments include Education, Labor and Industrial Relations, Transportation, Highways and Public Works, and the House Select Committee on Women and Children.
