Biography
Charlie Shepherd is a Republican serving as the Idaho State Representative for District 7B in the Idaho House of Representatives. He is currently in his third term, having been first elected in 2020 after his father, Paul Shepherd, retired from the seat. Raised in Garden Valley, Idaho, he graduated from Salmon River High School in Riggins in 1986, attended Boise State University where he walked on to the football team, and later worked in logging across Idaho, Utah, Oregon, and Washington for 10 years, followed by 15 years in the family sawmill and log home business. He serves as maintenance supervisor at the Salmon River Joint School District, coached high school football, basketball, and track for 18 years—winning five state football championships—and is a member of the District III Basketball Officials Association. He resides in Pollock, Idaho, with his wife Susan and has four children: Charlie, Jimmy, Johnny, and Chevelle. Notable positions include Vice Chair of the Resources & Conservation Committee, and membership on Revenue & Taxation, Transportation & Defense, and Committee on Federalism.
