Biography

Charlie McClintock is a Republican state senator representing District 42 in the Iowa Senate, covering parts of Benton and Linn counties. Born in 1970 in Newton, Iowa, he was raised in the state and has resided in Alburnett for over 25 years with his wife Stacy and their two children. He serves as the 911 Manager for the Cedar Rapids Police Department, a role he holds after starting as a police officer in 1994, and retired in 2009 as a Warrant Officer from the Iowa Army National Guard after 21 years of service. Notable achievements include previously serving as Alburnett City Council member and mayor, winning 100% of the vote in his last election, and legislative actions such as supporting landowner protections against eminent domain, removing gender identity from the Iowa Civil Rights code, introducing bills for military property tax exemptions, and increasing penalties for harassment via personal information publication. He has launched a campaign for U.S. Congress in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District on an "America First" agenda.
