Biography
Charlie Geren is a Republican Texas State Representative for District 99, which covers parts of Tarrant County including cities like Fort Worth, Lake Worth, and River Oaks. A Fort Worth native born on October 22, 1949, he has served since his election in November 2000. Geren owns Railhead Smokehouse, a barbecue restaurant, and is a rancher, commercial real estate partner, and community leader. Notable achievements include the Guardian of Small Business award from the National Federation of Independent Business, induction into the Texas Realtors Association Hall of Fame, and the True Agricultural Champion Award from the Texas Farm Bureau. He currently chairs the House Administration Committee and serves as a trustee of Texas Christian University and vice president of the Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show.
