Charles E. Sydnor III is a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate representing District 44 since January 8, 2020. Born on March 18, 1974, in Baltimore, Maryland, he previously served in the Maryland House of Delegates for District 44B from 2015 to 2020. He is married to Myra, with three daughters, and resides in Catonsville, Maryland. Notable positions include Chair of the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics, member of the Judicial Proceedings Committee and Executive Nominations Committee, Deputy Majority Whip , and Senate Chair of the Task Force to Study Transparency Standards for State's Attorneys.
