ABOUT
Charles H. Clements is a physician and public health official. He served as a lieutenant and flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After leaving the military, Clements worked with refugees in Cambodia and El Salvador. In the 1980s, Clements directed health programs in Africa for the Centers for Disease Control. He later served as Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF and founded the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee’s health and human rights program. Clements has written extensively on humanitarian issues and efforts to ban landmines.read less
