Charles Cunningham is an American politician representing Texas's 127th House of Representatives district, which includes Humble, Huffman, Kingwood, and Atascocita. He has been a resident of his district for over 30 years and is 68 years old. Cunningham lives in Humble with his wife of 40 years, Stella, a retired educator. They have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
A U.S. Army veteran, Cunningham served his community in various capacities before entering the state legislature. He is a deacon at St. Marks Missionary Baptist Church and describes himself as an avid reader. His career prior to the legislature included work as a Distribution Account Consultant for CenterPoint Energy.

Cunningham's path to the Texas House began with grassroots community involvement. Before his election in 2022 to the state legislature, he accumulated extensive public service experience:
- 12 years on the Humble Independent School District board, including a term as board president
- 4 years on the Humble City Council
- Leadership roles in numerous community organizations, including serving as President of Humble Area Assistance Ministries and Vice-Chairman of Government Affairs for the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce

In the Texas House, Cunningham serves on three committees: Public Education, Public Health, and Local & Consent Calendars, as well as the Subcommittee on Disease Prevention & Women's & Children's Health.
Cunningham's legislative focus centers on issues important to his district: flood mitigation and control, public education, and public safety. During his first term, he authored more than 40 bills, including measures to expand charter school opportunities, ease transitions for students returning from alternative education programs, and support special needs education.
