Charles Clements (Senate District 2)

Charles H. "Charlie" Clements is a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate, representing District 2 since his appointment on January 28, 2017, followed by elections in 2018 and 2022. Born August 21, 1943, in Huntington, West Virginia, to parents Charles and Margaret Clements, he is a retired independent businessman and former Executive Director of the West Virginia Route 2 and Interstate 68 Authority. Notable achievements include chairing the Senate Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, vice-chairing the Committees on Banking and Insurance and Pensions, and leading interim committees on Department of Transportation Accountability, Infrastructure, Mine Reclamation, and Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority. He previously served in the West Virginia House of Delegates , officiated football for over 40 years, and has been active in Rotary for more than 50 years. Married to Eugenia since March 1, 1968, with children Paul and Judith.
