Charlene Ward Johnson is a Democratic representative for Texas House District 139, covering parts of Harris County in Houston, including areas from southwest of Spring through Acres Homes to Independence Heights. A Houston native and claims manager with 25 years in the energy sector and customer service, she is 57 years old and previously replaced her ex-husband, Rep. Jarvis Johnson, after winning the Democratic primary runoff with 51.9% of the vote. She serves on the House Committees on Higher Education and Culture, Recreation & Tourism, advocating for education, seniors, jobs, Black communities, and environmental justice.
