Biography
Chad Puryear is a Republican representing District 25 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, covering portions of Washington, Crawford, and Franklin Counties. He is serving his second term in the 95th General Assembly , with a background as a farmer and former educator from a family that has farmed the same land in Arkansas since 1887. Notable positions include service on the House Public Transportation Committee, House Agriculture, Forestry, and Economic Development Committee, and the Arkansas Legislative Council; he also serves as Vice-Chair of the ALC-Game & Fish/State Police Committee and alternate on the Energy Joint Committee. He is an active member of the Arkansas Cattlemen’s Association, National Rifle Association, and board member of the Washington County Farm Bureau.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.S. in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas; M.S. in Education from Arkansas State University.
- Professional Experience: Grew up on a poultry farm, now operates a cattle and hay farm; over 12 years as a classroom teacher in public schools.
- Political Experience: First elected to the House in 2023 ; re-elected for 2025 term .
