Chad Ingels is a Republican Iowa State Representative serving District 68, representing parts of Fayette, Buchanan, and Black Hawk counties. Born in 1968 in Oelwein, he was raised on his family’s farm near Randalia in Fayette County and resides there with his wife, Tammy, and their two sons and one daughter. A dedicated pig farmer and founder of ClearWater Ag Strategies, LLC, Ingels is a conservation advocate who has implemented practices like cover crops, no-till planting, and split nitrogen applications on his farm. He began serving in the Iowa House in 2021 and holds committee roles including Education, Health and Human Services, Labor, and serves as chairman of the Administrative Rules Committee; he is a past chair of Veterans Affairs. Notable prior roles include former chairman of the Iowa Environmental Protection Commission, 2018 candidate for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, past president of Fayette County Farm Bureau, and service on the West Central Community School Board for over 20 years.
