Biography
Representative Chad Clifford
Chad Clifford is a Democratic state representative serving House District 37 in Colorado, which includes Centennial, Greenwood Village, Foxfield, and portions of unincorporated Arapahoe County. He was first elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2024.
Clifford brings diverse professional experience to his role, having worked as a police officer, business owner, and government operations professional. For the last 25 years, he has been heavily involved in emergency management and currently serves as a Government Operations Lead for the American Red Cross. He also works as a Colorado Ranger, serving with police departments throughout the state.
Prior to joining the legislature, Clifford was a government lobbyist in Colorado, giving him established familiarity with the Capitol and legislative processes. Beyond his professional roles, he has been active in his community through volunteerism and service on numerous boards and commissions, as well as involvement with his political party as an activist and organizer.
Political Experience
Since joining the legislature in 2024, Clifford has focused on legislation addressing constituent concerns. Notable achievements include creating the Colorado Disability Opportunity Office, establishing workplace protections against egregious training repayment schemes, and removing record sealing fees to facilitate rehabilitation for individuals with criminal records.
Within the Colorado House of Representatives, Clifford serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on State, Civic, Military and Veterans Affairs and holds membership on the House Committee on Judiciary. During the 2026 regular session, he has sponsored 14 bills.
