Biography
Chad Brown
Chad Brown is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 60, which encompasses Assumption and Iberville Parishes. He was born in February 1970 in Plaquemine, Louisiana, where he currently resides with his wife Hayley and two children, Clayton and Christian.
Education
Chad Brown earned his BS in Business Administration/Pre-Law from Louisiana State University and his JD in Law from Southern University .
Political Experience
Brown has served in the Louisiana House of Representatives since 2016 and ran for reelection in 2023. Prior to his legislative service, he worked as a Staff Attorney, Deputy Commissioner, and Chief of Staff at the Louisiana Department of Insurance from 1993 to 2008. He has maintained a private law practice as an Attorney at Law since 2008.
In the legislature, Brown serves on the Civil Law and Procedure Committee, Insurance Committee, and Joint Committee on Atchafalaya Basin Program Oversight, along with the Select Leadership Committee. He previously served on the Commerce, Hurricane Recovery, Judiciary, Disaster Recovery, and Homeland Security committees.
Brown is active in his community as a member of the Knights of Columbus and Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine. He participated in the Council for a Better Louisiana Leadership program and Leadership West .
