Biography

Cedrick Frazier is a Democratic-Farmer-Labor member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 43A. Born April 28, 1979, he grew up in a low-income neighborhood on Chicago's South Side and now lives in New Hope, Minnesota, with his wife Stella and three children. An attorney by profession, he was first elected to the House in 2020 and is currently serving his third term. Notable achievements include being the first African American on the New Hope City Council in 2018, where he improved police-community relations; as a legislator, he has vice-chaired Public Safety and Judiciary Committees, advocated for gun safety measures, restored voting rights for tens of thousands of Minnesotans, and supported community-based violence prevention. He currently serves as Co-Chair of Ways and Means, and on Judiciary Finance and Civil Law, and Workforce, Labor, and Economic Development Finance and Policy committees. He is running for Hennepin County Attorney.
