Catherine Stefani is a Democrat representing California's 19th Assembly District, which includes western neighborhoods of San Francisco and northern San Mateo County . She has served in the California State Assembly since 2024, after a career in San Francisco local government as a former County Supervisor and County Clerk. Age 56, she is married with two children and hails from Merced, California, residing in San Francisco. Notable achievements include championing a ballot measure as a supervisor to provide services to crime victims; in her current term, she has initiated 37 bills . She serves on key committees including Budget, Elections, Health, Judiciary, and Local Government, plus select committees on Asia/California Trade and Investment, Child Care Costs, Domestic Violence, Reproductive Health, and Sea Level Rise and the California Economy.
