Biography
Catherine Miranda is a Democratic Arizona State Senator representing District 11, one of the most diverse communities in the state where she has lived her entire life. Born on October 5, 1964, she comes from a family of four sisters and one brother, with deep roots in the district, including her father Robert, a Korean War veteran involved with American Legion Post 41, and her mother Ysabel Hernandez, active at St. Catherine’s of Siena Parish. As of 2026, she is running for re-election to continue advocating for homelessness, the severely mentally ill, quality education, job creation, and community priorities shaped by District 11's diversity. Notable achievements include her progression from kindergarten student to school administrator, school board member, and service in both chambers of the Arizona State Legislature.
