Biography
Senator Carrie Hamblen is a Democratic state senator representing District 38 in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, serving since January 2021. She is the CEO and President of the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce , where she has led initiatives like the Think Local First program, Sustainable Business Recognition Program, and efforts to connect local economies with public lands, raising over $80,000 in memberships and sponsorships. Notable achievements include speaking at the 2014 designation ceremony for the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument alongside President Barack Obama as New Mexico's sole representative, serving as a 2015 Emerge Cohort member and commencement speaker, and advocating for LGBTQ+ rights as former President of PFLAG Las Cruces, where she advanced domestic partner benefits at New Mexico State University and the City of Las Cruces.
