Biography
Carole A. Fiola represents the 6th Bristol District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, covering northern Fall River and the Assonet part of Freetown. Born March 3, 1960, in Fall River, she was elected in a special election on September 10, 2013, and sworn in on September 25, 2013. A lifelong Fall River resident, she is married to Kenneth Fiola, Jr., with two children, and works as a Realtor licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Notable achievements include serving five two-year terms on the Massachusetts Governor's Council, providing advice and consent on judicial and other gubernatorial appointees. She is House Chair of the Municipalities and Regional Government Committee, a board member of the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators, and previously chaired the Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development Committee while serving on House Ways and Means, Judiciary, and Economic Development committees. Fiola has founded and served on numerous community boards, including the Durfee High School Athletic Foundation, Steppingstone Inc., and the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts, prioritizing constituent services, local funding, and support for women.
