Biography

Carol A. Murphy is a Democratic Assemblywoman representing New Jersey's 7th Legislative District. She has served since 2018, currently in her fourth term, and holds leadership positions including Majority Whip , Deputy Majority Leader , and Deputy Speaker . Notable achievements include chairing the Health Committee, passing legislation to restrict domestic violence abusers' access to firearms , codifying abortion rights, securing major investments in women's healthcare, advancing pay equity and minimum wage increases, reducing gun violence, providing affordable prescription drugs for seniors, supporting LGBTQ+ rights, and addressing property tax burdens.
