Biography

Carol Dalby is a Republican representing District 100 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, covering Texarkana and part of Miller County. Born in 1956, she is an attorney practicing in Texarkana and serves as the Chairperson of the House Judiciary Committee—the first woman to hold this position in Arkansas history. She is currently in her fifth term and also serves on the House Insurance and Commerce Committee and the Legislative Joint Auditing Committee. Notable achievements include sponsoring bills on domestic violence as grounds for divorce, funding for domestic violence shelters, and her prior appointment as a district judge in Miller County and special justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court for ten years on the Lake View school case. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, married to John, with two grown children.
