Biography
Representative Carmine Gentile
Carmine Lawrence Gentile is a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives representing the 13th Middlesex district, which includes portions of Concord, Lincoln, Framingham, and Sudbury. He was sworn in January 2015 and is a resident of Sudbury, Massachusetts.
Gentile was the first in his family to graduate college. Beyond his legislative work, he maintains a private law practice, having founded the Law Office of Carmine L. Gentile in Framingham in 1990. Throughout his career, he has represented children, parents, and small businesses while regularly providing free legal services to adults and children in need.
Education
Gentile earned his bachelor's degree from Tufts University and his juris doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
Political Experience
Before his election to the House, Gentile held several positions in local government and community leadership:
- Served as Vice-Chair of the Sudbury Democratic Town Committee
- Worked as a paralegal in the Office of Finance at the Department of Public Welfare after law school
- Became the first Director of the Estate Recovery Program for the Commonwealth
- Served on the Sudbury Finance Committee, Board of Registers, and Planning Board
- Held membership on the Council on Aging
Additionally, Gentile has been active in community service, including roles as a soccer coach, Scoutmaster and Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 63, and president of the Sudbury Rotary Club.
