Biography
Carlos Barron
Carlos Barron is a Republican representative in the Colorado House of Representatives serving District 48, which encompasses parts of Adams and Weld counties including Brighton, Fort Lupton, Hudson, Lochbuie, Todd Creek, and Platteville.
Barron was born in Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico in 1985 and immigrated to the United States with his parents when he was just over one year old. After initially living in Kit Carson, Colorado for three years while his father worked in the oil and gas industry, his family relocated to Fort Lupton when Barron was five years old, where he has resided since.
He is married to Carla Barron and has three children: Santiago, Lucia, and Camila. Together with his wife, Barron has launched two businesses: a business management and consulting company and a home rental company.
Education
Barron graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 2004. He attended Johnson & Wales University Denver for two years studying business management before transferring to Metro State University Denver, where he studied for an additional year and a half.
Political Experience
Before his election to the state legislature, Barron served on the Fort Lupton Planning Commission for two years. He was elected to the Fort Lupton City Council in 2021 to a four-year term and is currently serving his third year of that term.
Barron was first elected to the Colorado House of Representatives on November 5, 2024, running unopposed in both the Republican primary and general elections. He currently serves as Minority Whip in the state house. Professionally, Barron has worked in his father's oil and gas services company for 23 years and serves as its general manager and partner.
