Biography
Carl R. Albrecht is a Republican representing District 70 in the Utah House of Representatives, covering rural counties including Emery, Grand, Sanpete, and Sevier. A 42-year resident of Sevier County and resident of Richfield, he serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment, and is a member of the House Committee on Public Utilities, Energy, and Technology, Joint Commission on Federalism, Joint Legislative Commission on Water Development, and Subcommittee on Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environmental Quality Appropriations. Notable achievements include a 40-year career with Garkane Energy, including 23 years as CEO, and active community involvement as a youth coach in baseball, softball, and basketball. He is married with three children and nine grandchildren, and enjoys hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.S. in Business from Southern Utah State College.
- Political Experience: First elected in 2016, began legislative service on January 1, 2017; has served 10 sessions in the Utah House as of 2026; next election in 2026. Previously a retired utility executive and consultant.
